Prep Cook
Job Description:
Prep Cooks play an important behind-the-scenes role in keeping the Old Barn Resort kitchen running smoothly. This position supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, organizing food items, and helping ensure consistency and quality throughout service.
This is a hands-on role focused primarily on weekend operations, helping our team stay prepared and efficient during our busiest days.

SCHEDULE:
Primarily Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Daytime and early evening shifts
Additional shifts may be available
Job Functions:
Prepare and portion ingredients according to established recipes and standards.
Chop, measure, label, and organize food items for service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep and kitchen areas.
Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
Assist Line Cooks and kitchen staff during busy service periods.
Stock and rotate inventory as needed.
Support additional kitchen tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum age of 16 years
Available Friday–Sunday during restaurant season
Additional Qualifications:
Comfortable using knives and kitchen equipment (training provided)
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to follow directions and work efficiently.
Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not required.
Reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.
Working Conditions:
Primary schedule Friday through Sunday.
Weekend availability required.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Frequent walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive motions.
Ability to lift kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed.
Fast-paced kitchen environment during peak hours.
