Nestled in Southeast Minnesota’s Driftless Region, Old Barn Resort is your basecamp for river days, trail rides, and tee times. Bike the Root River State Trail, float the Root, cast for trout, or play 18 at Rivers Bend—then wind down with a meal inside our historic barn.

Biking the Root River State Bike Trail

Ride over 60 miles of paved trail through limestone bluffs and quiet Driftless valleys. With easy access from the resort, it’s simple to roll out for a morning ride and be back in time for lunch. Trail maps are available in our campground store.
Swim in our 3 Season Swimming Pool

Our heated pool is a guest favorite—perfect after a river float or round of golf. With gradual entry steps and depths for all ages, it’s an easy place to cool off and relax. Open early May through mid-October, weather permitting.
Golf at Rivers Bend Golf Course

Challenge yourself at Rivers Bend, our scenic 18-hole course winding along the Root River and Watson Creek. Bluff-top tee shots, tight lines, and signature holes like the peninsula par-3 10th make every round memorable. Tee times are strongly recommended.
Old Barn Restaurant

Dine inside our 140-year-old barn after a full day outdoors. From smoked meats to burgers, it’s the kind of meal that ends a Driftless day right. Open seasonally spring through fall.
Tubing & Canoeing the Root River

Nothing says summer like floating the Root River. Launch nearby and drift through calm water and scenic banks. Tubes are available in our store, and we’re always happy to help guests check current river conditions before heading out.
Trout Fishing in Southeast Minnesota

Cold, clear streams around the resort are home to brown and rainbow trout. Whether you’re fly fishing or casting from shore, you’ll find quiet water just minutes away. A valid Minnesota fishing license is required.
